Bouldering in the National Park
Including complete beginners will soon be ascending protected Peak District crags on this two-day session. Non-Representational Art in Andalucía
This historic hillside village, a ancient town in Andalucía, about a short drive from Granada, is the breathtaking location for this painting holiday. Artists of all abilities – including beginners – will discover how to plan and create non-representational pieces. Some time will be spent outside, working on tutorials out in nature. These initial charcoal drawings and paintings will then be worked on in the studio, with participants creating multiple interpretive scenes in acrylic paint to be exhibited in the local community. The group has exclusive access of the venue, which is centered on an open courtyard and has a roof terrace with views over the hills. The price encompasses five days’ painting tuition; all meals; and an trip to the nearby fortress and other points of interest.

Plant-Based Culinary in the Algarve
This sun-drenched cooking retreat, based at a villa by the river in the central Portuguese region, is draws inspiration from the vegetarian dishes of renowned chefs. Guests will master the art of selection of small dishes, attend a falafel-making workshop, perfect mid-morning meals such as shakshuka, and make hearty mains such as a rich mushroom stew and moussaka. There are trips to the local market and a local vineyard to taste Portuguese wines, along with leisure time for walks by the nearby river, to unwind on the terrace or swim in the pool. Street Dance in High Wycombe
Hip Hop Don’t Stop is an uplifting, welcoming three-day adults’ street dance camp in High Wycombe. The daily schedule throughout the camp is a high-energy group warmup, then three hour-and-a-half workshops covering different street dance styles, then an 60-minute jam to show off new moves. Dancers are split into levels according to ability and experience, so it is suitable for those who are brand new to popping and locking, right up to experienced performers or instructors. This event doesn’t include lodging but there are a number of hostels and hotels within walking distance, and it is 23-35 minutes by rail into central London.

Maritime Singing Break in Cornwall
This coastal town is the excellent location for a maritime music retreat. Participants will be taught historic sailing songs from a folk singer and vocal coach, and try their hand at writing their own. The schedule includes vocal warmups, breathing exercises, performance tips and a closing performance. The retreat is based at a rural hotel with views of St Ives Bay. Full board are included, such as a traditional tea on arrival, breakfast options, lunches to go and evening meals. Traditional rum, unfortunately, is not provided. Writing in Greece
Writer and lecturer Greg Mosse conducts the daily workshops on this writing retreat. He covers topics including story structure, characters, setting and suspense, to sending manuscripts to publishers. A co-host, the bestselling author Kate Mosse, will co-host special sessions at the start and finish of the retreat. The holiday is based at a traditional complex in Vamos at the foot of the Lefka Ori – ten private accommodations are set around a central garden with a pool (companions are welcome to share). On the final evening, aspiring writers mark the occasion with a musical performance in the courtyard and a farewell dinner.

The Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth runs a host of courses covering sustainability: from creating habitats to making pallet furniture. This two-day introduction will help attendees learn the fundamentals of apiary management, explore the life cycle of bees and discover their ecological importance. It is designed to produce “bee-friendly beekeepers”. This course is also a chance to relax in the centre's carefully maintained woodlands, which are home to polecats, otters, dormice, bats and uncommon bird species.
