Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
An aircraft transporting the US defense secretary was compelled to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to turn back to Washington after encountering a mechanical fault.
