The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Advice from Golf Legend Woods Prior to Professional Golf First Appearance
The rising star has substantial social media audience
Kai Trump will have multiple prominent cheerleaders as she makes her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, operates several courses worldwide and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play competitive games," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He basically advised me to play and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments this year and has ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
However she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He is the best player in the world," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's an even better individual. He advised me to play, relax, and go with whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in women's golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that her participation brings the sport to different demographics, particularly among the next generation.
Kai boasts substantial online presence and recently launched her own clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
