Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community had expressed its support for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
